Doug is a 1979 graduate of the Texas Tech University with a B.A. degree in Business Administration. He received his J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law and is licensed by the State Bar of Texas. He, along with David Feavel and Michael LaMonica, formed ExL Petroleum LP in August, 2005.
Dave is a 1974 graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a B.S. degree in Geological Engineering. He, along with Douglass Robison and Michael LaMonica, formed ExL Petroleum LP in August, 2005.
Scott is a 1995 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a Zoology degree and a 2003 graduate of Texas Tech School of Law and is currently licensed to practice law in Texas and New Mexico.
VP - Business Operations & Engineering
Mark is a 1982 graduate of the of the Colorado School of Mines with a Chemical and Petroleum Refining degree and currently serves and ExL’s V.P. of Business Operations and Engineering.
Director of Geosciences
Monte graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1971 with a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and in 1988 he obtained his MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver. He is a NCEES certified and registered Professional Engineer in the states of Colorado and Texas.
Kregg is a 1984 graduate of Abilene Christian University with a BBA in Accounting and is a currently licensed CPA in the state of Texas. Currently Kregg serves and ExL’s Chief Financial Officer.
Mike LaMonica – Board Technical Advisor – Mike is a 1978 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering Technology. A former partner, Mike has more than 40 years of experience in drilling, operations, production, and reservoir engineering. He drilled more than 600 Spraberry and Wolfberry wells and supervised all the operations and production thereafter.
Mike Langford – Drilling Manager – Mike is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and has more than 35 years of drilling experience in the US as well as internationally
Dan Varner – Engineering Manager – Dan is a graduate of Texas A&M University with Bachelor and Master degrees in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to ExL, Dan worked at other petroleum entities in drilling, production, completion, and facility roles.
Jim Stevens – Senior Petroleum Engineer - Jim is a 1980 graduate of the Louisiana State University with a B.S in Petroleum Engineering. Jim has more than 35 years of experiencein all phases of drilling, completion and production operations.
Land and Legal
Matt Cooper – General Counsel – Matt graduated from The University of Texas and earned a master’s degree from Texas Tech University. He graduated from the Texas Tech University School of Law in 2001 and had over nine years of Oil & Gas and other legal experience before joining ExL.
Jim Davis – Oil and Gas Counsel – Jim obtained both undergraduate graduate degrees of Texas Tech University. He graduated from Texas Tech Law School in 1997 and worked for sixteen years as an Oil & Gas title and transaction attorney before joining ExL.
Chris Aycock – Land Manager – Chris completed undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University and graduated from Baylor Law School in 1996 and worked for nineteen years as an Oil & Gas litigation attorney before joining ExL.
Joe Villalobos – Senior Geologist – Joe received a B.S. in Geology from the University of Texas at El Paso in May 1981. Joe has 35 years of experience and has spent the last 12+ years focusing on the Bone Spring and Wolfcamp unconventional reservoirs in the Delaware Basin. Joe was an integral part of the team credited with the discovery of the Leonard-Avalon Shale play.
David Grace – Exploration Manager – David is a 1987 graduate of Texas Christian University with a B.S. in Geology. For more than 25 years David has worked in and been instrumental in the development of the Wolfberry and Wolfbone plays.
Hunter Manley – Geologist – Hunter is a 1998 graduate of North Carolina State University with a B.S. in Geology. Hunter has gained in-depth experience in open and cased hole operations, interpretation of data for advanced services logging tools, processing and interpretation of XRMI Image logs, and the placement of laterals for horizontal well drilling operations.
Kevin Cartwright –Business Development Manager – Kevin graduated with a BBA degree in Entrepreneurial Management and Marketing from Texas Christian University. Prior to joining ExL in 2014, Kevin served in business development capacities and as a landman.
Michael Mingoia – Senior Business Development Engineer – Michael received a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. Prior to joining ExL, Michael spent 15 years representing sellers in oil & gas divestiture transactions and investment banking.
Trevor Elza – Senior Financial Analyst – Trevor graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a BBA in Finance and Economics. He completed the Financial Planning program at Rice University. Before joining ExL in 2014, he spent 7 years in federal tax preparation and investment analysis.
Heidi Stone – Controller – Heidi earned a BBA and MBA in Accounting from Angelo State University and is a licensed CPA in the state of Texas. Prior to joining ExL in 2012, Heidi had ten years of experience in financial accounting and reporting, consolidated tax reporting, and treasury services.
